The Liberian Women Empowerment Network (LIWEN) is a registered non-governmental, not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the rights and well-being of women and girls living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Established in 2006 by a core group of women drawn from seven support groups of persons living with HIV, LIWEN was officially registered under the laws of Liberia on February 24, 2011. It remains the only national network exclusively focused on women and girls living and affected by HIV in Liberia.
